PROVIDENCE – It will be less basketball environment and more country music concert, but some of the feeling will be the same.
Amica Mutual Pavilion will be full Saturday, Oct. 4, a gathering typically reserved for the Providence men at their downtown home. Carrie Underwood will be the headliner instead of Corey Floyd Jr. or Oswin Erhunmwunse on this particular occasion.
Late Night Madness will also bring the Friars women to the floor for introductions and a close view of the former American Idol winner and 16-time Grammy Award nominee. Underwood carries more star power than Holy Cross will bring for the men’s season opener on Nov. 3, but even a taste of that atmosphere for some Providence newcomers will be nice.
