A day after forming as the fourth hurricane of the 2025 Atlantic Ocean season, Hurricane Imelda had officially become stronger than Humberto Wednesday morning as it took aim at Bermuda, forecasters with the National Hurricane Center in Miami said.

Located about 340 miles west-southwest of Bermuda as of 10 a.m. Wednesday, Imelda was producing maximum sustained winds of 100 mph and moving east-northeast at 20 mph.

The Category 1 storm is forecast to bring hurricane-force winds, damaging waves and flash flooding to the island through Thursday.

It is expected to reach Category 2 strength with winds of 100 mph in about 12 hours as it approaches Bermuda, where a hurricane warning is in effect.
