SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The Shreveport Regional Airport conducted a full-scale emergency disaster drill exercise on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
The drill simulated a plane crash, passenger extractions and patient triage.
The Federal Aviation Administration requires commercial air service airports to run a full-scale exercise every three years to comply with safety regulations.
According to CPSO, the exercise tests the airport’s emergency strategies and capabilities. The drill will be evaluated by officials based upon response times, coordination and more.
Drill participants included the Shreveport Airport Authority, Caddo Sheriff’s Office of Homeland Security, La. State Police, Barksdale Air Force Base and local first responders.
