BROOKLYN HEIGHTS/BOERUM HILL — THE ATLANTIC ANTIC, Brooklyn’s largest and oldest non-religious street festival, marks its 50th birthday this Sunday, Oct. 5.
The Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation will celebrate five decades of food, community, music and culture from noon to 6 p.m., rain or shine, stretching from Hicks Street to Fourth Avenue. The Antic’s 50th anniversary celebration will feature live music and performances along 10 blocks; local culinary treats from more than 300 merchants and vendors; balloons celebrating beloved businesses going 25+ years strong; and several ’70s throwbacks, including a live singing contest, fashion show and dance party. The best ‘70s outfit will win a cash prize. Antic-goers will also find handmade goods, crafts and vintage finds.
