A former N.W.T teacher and coach who was convicted of sexual assault and exploitation of two teenagers was granted release from prison pending an appeal.
Neil Barry was convicted in May and sentenced to nine years in prison in September.
After his sentencing, Barry filed for an appeal.
According to court documents, Barry's appeal is partially based on the argument that during the trial the jury was not told how to consider "demeanour evidence" or the permissible use of third party demeanour evidence.
