NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Nashville man is behind bars in Nashville after allegedly attacking his former roommate with a machete.

Everildo Herrera Pacheco, 34, was booked Wednesday into the Downtown Detention Center in connection with the alleged attack, which police say happened early Tuesday morning. He is charged with attempted criminal homicide.

Police say Pacheco tried to kill his former roommate — who is also his sister’s boyfriend — after a night out took a turn toward violence.

That evening, the victim reportedly invited his girlfriend and Pacheco to grab a bite and drink.
