WEST BRANCH, Iowa (KCRG) - A construction worker is seriously injured after getting hit by a truck near West Branch on Tuesday.

At approximately 10:46 a.m. Tuesday, authorities responded to a crash at a construction zone on westbound I-80 near West Branch.

According to a crash report, a truck was in a construction area doing road work.

The truck driver reportedly did not see workers while backing up to other construction equipment and hit a worker on the ground.

The worker was taken to the University of Iowa Hospital for serious injuries.

No other information is known at this time.
