A pedestrian has been hit by a bus near Thornaby railway station. Emergency services are at the scene in Mandale Road on the one-way system towards the entrance of the railway station.

Cleveland Police is urging motorists to use alternative routes as police and paramedics deal with the incident. Witnesses say the Great North Air Ambulance attended, however, it is not known whether anyone has been airlifted to hospital.

A police spokespersonsaid: "Emergency services are currently at the scene of a collision involving a pedestrian and a bus in Stockton . The road is currently closed between [Mandale] Road on the one-way system towards the entrance of Thornaby train station. Please use alternative routes. Thank you for your patience."
