ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions released wide receiver Ronnie Bell from their practice squad and signed linebacker Ty Summers to take his place.
Bell, the former Michigan standout, landed with the Lions shortly after last season ended. He was signed to a reserve/futures deal and made it through training camp and the preseason to this point.
The receiver previously played for the San Francisco 49ers. He saw action in 26 games across the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He caught eight passes for 90 yards and three touchdowns during his time there.
Summers spent some time during camp and in the preseason last year. The last time he was spotted at Ford Field, Summers posted 1.5 sacks, eight tackles and even added a stop on special teams during a preseason game . He helps fill the team’s depth at l
