NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Nashville International Airport released more information regarding the recent traffic nightmare that lasted for hours in mid-September.

The airport said that the unprecedented traffic event caused significant congestion and inconvenience for travelers.

“We recognize the trust you place in us every day, and we do not take that responsibility lightly. Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and most importantly, your continued support of Nashville International Airport,” President and CEO of the Metro Nashville Airport Authority, Douglas E. Kreulen, said.
