The Met Office has warned people in the UK that Storm Amy might bring about an 'intense' phenomenon this weekend when it hits certain parts of the country.
On Wednesday morning, the national weather service confirmed that the first named storm of the season will arrive in a matter of days.
A yellow weather warning for strong wind has been issued and will run from 6pm on Friday to 11.59pm on Saturday.
While the alert doesn't cover Greater Manchester , our region is still expected to see gusty conditions and downpours.
According to the latest rainfall radar map , the most intense precipitation will come at around 7pm on Friday evening and will persist until the early hours of Saturday morning.
