NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Supreme Court has set an execution date for the only woman on the state’s death row.
Christa Gail Pike, 49, will be executed on Sept. 30, 2026.
Pike was among three people convicted in the 1995 murder and torture of Colleen Slemmer. The case is commonly referred to as the “Job Corps Murder.”
Pike was convicted alongside her boyfriend, Tiddell Shipp, and Shadolla Peterson. Slemmer was hit on the head with a piece of asphalt, which killed her.
Prosecutors said Pike kept a portion of Slemmer’s skull after the killing.
