For years, digital platforms have given international readers easy access to manga, expanding beyond mainstream titles and opening the door to niche and lesser-known works. Manga Planet stood out in this space, offering translated titles that were hard to find anywhere else. Unfortunately, fans will soon lose that access, as the service prepares for a full shutdown.
Manga Planet announced that it will end its digital operations on March 31, 2026, marking the end of an era for fans who relied on the platform for older and more niche series. While not the largest manga subscription service, its value came from variety and availability. With the closure, Manga Planet will shift its attention toward print releases under its Manga Planet and futekiya imprints.
