The Nogales Apaches won their flag football home opener on Tuesday behind freshman quarterback Kayla Castro, who ran for one touchdown, threw for another, and scored a third TD when she both completed a pass and ran the ball into the end zone on the same play.

The Apaches' 21-0 victory over the Mountain View Mountain Lions came after NHS opened the 2025 campaign with losses at Buena and at Tucson High. ×
