BLOOMDALE, Ohio — Standout NFL running back Cam Skattebo has an unlikely and exuberant fan club at Elmwood High School.
The New York Giants rookie, who burst onto the national scene as a charismatic and physical senior last fall at Arizona State, showed his charitable side this summer when he donated nearly $30,000 worth of equipment to the Royals’ football program.
“We were absolutely blown away by the generous donation from Cam,” Elmwood head coach JT Bates said. “It was like Christmas morning when we passed the shoulder pads out.”
For the 5-foot-9, 219-pound playmaker, lending a hand to Elmwood meant helping out family.
The California native has a connection to the Elmwood program through his older brother, Leo Skattebo, a former Bowling Green State University fullback (2016-17) who
