PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — On Oct. 11, visitors to the Portage Public Safety Fire Division's Fire Station No. 1 can attend the annual Fire Safety, Information and Risk Education (FIRE) Open House for kids and families.
"Fire prevention isn't always about the equipment and the training," Bill Graham, battalion chief of Community Risk Reduction in Portage, said. "It's more about the neighbors looking out for each other."
Beginning at 9 a.m., families can enjoy fire station and fire truck tours, puppet shows, mascot meet-and-greets, kids activities, fire extinguisher simulations and more. • Families and community members in Portage attend the annual Fire Safety, Information and Risk Education Open House.
