CANANDAIGUA, NY (WENY) -- New York State Police and the Steuben County Sheriff's Office held a joint press conference Wednesday at the Troop E headquarters in Canandaigua, providing an update to a missing person case dating back to 2011.
On December 13, 2021, skeletal human remains were found by New York State Department of Transportation workers in a culvert along State Route 36 in the town of Dansville, just south of State Route 70.
On Wednesday, District Attorney Brooks Baker announced the remains have been identified as Doh Soe, a Burmese refugee who had emigrated to Rochester in 2008. Soe was reported missing by a friend on June 1, 2011 to Rochester Police. At the time of his disappearance, he would have been 23 years old.
