If you only know The Witcher from video games , you might think Witcher schools have a big presence on the Continent. In reality, Andrzej Sapkowski’s books include just one single line about them. If not for CD Projekt Red, that brief reference would be an otherwise forgettable line found in just one short story. And if the author had his way, that’s exactly what it would be. Sapkowski says he deeply regrets ever mentioning the existence of a Witcher school.

During a Reddit Q&A (which we first heard about at IGN ), Sapkowski talked about a line he wrote in his Witcher story collection, The Last Wish . A fan asked what the author thinks about the video games adding a lot “of extra Witcher schools compared to the books.” They also asked if he has plans to expand their presence
