A new Walmart fulfillment center will open in Kings Mountain in 2027, a $300 million investment that will create more than 300 new jobs.
The state announced Tuesday, Sept. 30, that the 1.2 million-square-foot facility will be located at 799 Sara Lee Access Road in Kings Mountain.
The 300 positions would pay a minimum average wage of $69,360, about $17,000 more than Gaston County's median income of $52,180, Mark Poole with the NC Department of Commerce said during a NC Economic Investment Committee meeting on Sept. 30.
