SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WMTV) - Police took a Sun Prairie student into custody Wednesday morning for allegedly bringing a steak knife to school.
A school safety monitoring system alerted Prairie View Middle School staff to concerning behavior by a student, Sun Prairie Police Department explained.
Staff members got other students away from the student of concern, and put the school under a hold. Students and staff remained in their classrooms while administrators responded to this report.
The Sun Prairie Police department responded just before 8:50 a.m. to the school and worked to deescalate the situation.
Police said the student dropped the knife and officers took the individual into custody.
No one was hurt during this response.
