MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Officials from the Universities of Wisconsin and school districts across the state are encouraging students and families to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid for the next school year.

FAFSA typically opens for students on October 1, but this year, that changed. The U.S. Department of Education announced last week the application was open ahead of schedule and encouraged students to start applying.
