A man wanted for allegedly choking a 5-year-old child in Massachusetts, then fleeing in the mother's vehicle, was arrested Tuesday in Maine, the U.S. Marshals said.

Dominque Bailey was taken into custody in Lewiston, Maine, when federal, state and local law enforcement forced their way into a residence, the Marshals said Wednesday.

Bailey was wanted on strangulation or suffocation and domestic assault and battery charges over the incident in Peabody, Massachusetts, according to the Marshals.
