CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — An inmate died following an altercation inside the Clayton County Jail early on Tuesday.

Turman's death marks at least the fourth reported at the Clayton County Jail this year.

An autopsy later this week will determine the cause and manner of his death.

Records show Turman was booked into the jail on May 7, on a charge of second-degree criminal damage to property.

11Alive has learned that the altercation occurred in the early morning hours of Sept. 30.

The Clayton County Sheriff's Office has not released details about the death or what led to Turman's death.
