KEOKUK (WGEM) - The Quincy Police Department partnered with the Keokuk Police Department and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office to attempt to locate Dyrece T. Knaff II late Tuesday evening.

At 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police surrounded a residence on Blondeau Street in Keokuk. Chief Adam Yates said Knaff exited the residence and was safely taken into custody.

According to Keokuk Police Chief Zeth Baum said a 9mm handgun was recovered from inside the residence and turned over to QPD.

Knaff was taken to the Lee County Jail, where he is lodged, pending extradition proceedings back to Adams County.

Knaff has a hearing scheduled at the Lee County Courthouse at 11 a.m. on Oct. 8.

Baum said there are no Keokuk charges for Knaff.
