The Detroit Tigers squandered chances to squash the Cleveland Guardians’ miracle season and came to regret it late. Brayan Rocchio hit a solo homer to ignite a five-run eighth inning as the Guardians beat the Tigers 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Progressive Field.

The best-of-three Wild Card Series is now tied at one game apiece. The decisive Game 3 is Thursday with a tentative start time of 1:08 p.m., though first pitch could be pushed back to 3:08 or even 7:08 depending on the results of other series.
