GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Meijer is planning to expand into western Pennsylvania, but it’s not tipping its hand on the exact location of future stores or when it hopes to open them.

The Walker-based grocery giant, which operates more than 500 stores in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Wisconsin, confirmed in a statement that it has started acquiring properties in the state.
