ROCKFORD, Ill. — The name of a recent Rockford shooting victim has been revealed.

The Winnebago County Coroner's Office said that 34-year-old Katlyn Acord of Rockford was killed in a shooting in the 900 block of Kishwaukee Street on Tuesday morning.

Just after 6:10 a.m. on Tuesday, Acord was found dead inside her vehicle. A 911 call was made, and Rockford Police rushed to the scene along with the Rockford Fire Department. Officers saw Acord had a gunshot wound and said she was beyond resuscitation.

Coroners arrived and pronounced Acord dead at 6:48 a.m. An autopsy confirmed she died from her gunshot wound.

Acord's loved ones have launched a GoFundMe to help pay for her memorial service.
