LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Halloween is a month away, but for the last few weeks, dozens of local artists have been working hard to get ready for Louisville’s 13th annual Jack O’Lantern Spectacular that debuts Thursday, Oct. 2, in Iroquois Park. The event raises money for Parks Alliance in Louisville , a nonprofit dedicated to improving the city’s parks with a focus on those in underserved neighborhoods.
“We are in here making pumpkins all day, every single day. We don’t close this studio at all,” said Alene Day, the studio director at the artist warehouse for Louisville’s Jack O’Lantern Spectacular.
Day has been painting and carving pumpkins for the event for a decade.
