LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) - It’s been one year since 19-year-old Cash Gaudio and local mom Christina Hamilton were shot and killed in Lynchburg.

Police say Nathaniel Pridemore first took Christina’s life before randomly following Cash home and shooting him in front of his family’s house.

“I breathe in, I breathe out. And just every day, that’s what I do and just keep going,” said Shannon Meyers, Cash’s mom.

For Meyers, just keeping going has been the only way forward in navigating a the loss of a child.

“He was snatched away and stolen in an instant. And he deserves more than anyone to have his life carried on, and his legacy carried on,” said Meyers.

Meyers says while the grief is constant, so is the reminder of how much Cash is loved.
