BOISE, Idaho — A beloved contest where Idaho classrooms band together to create the best name for a snowplow is returning.

On Wednesday, the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) announced its annual 'Name a Snowplow' contest, where 6th to 12th-grade classrooms will work with their teachers to submit their ideas. Entries will be accepted throughout October, and the winning names will be announced by the end of the year.

"Our snowplow drivers are thrilled to see students getting involved in this fun, educational opportunity that also highlights the importance of winter driving safety," said Scott Stokes, Director of ITD.
