FINDLAY, Ohio — Students at Findlay High School are turning a classroom lesson into a real-life impact.

"I've never really written a grant or known the process or known really what a grant was, so this taught me all of it," Findlay High School sophomore Greta Zaciewski said.

Zaciewski is a member of student council and one of five students to help submit a grant proposal in April.

"We wrote different statements with our main ideas to actually present to the board, and then after that we came back together to meet about what happened and how the grant went, which we did receive the full amount that we asked for," Zaciewski said.

That full amount came out to $10,000 to be used for student council initiatives moving forward.
