DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -- The applicants behind a data center in Preble County have decided to go back to the drawing board after withdrawing their proposal to rezone 300 acres.
The rezoning plan was to be voted on during a county planning commission meeting Wednesday, but the withdrawal has put the property’s future in limbo.
A public hearing on the rezoning proposal on Sept. 2 drew an overflow crowd, with many residents voicing concerns over the possible environmental impact and increases to their energy bills.
Some residents in the area say that the data center outside of the pre-zoned industrial areas is not in their best interest, but developers say they are going to try again.
