OMAHA, Neb. —

The government shutdown is set to continue until at least Thursday.

There's not currently a clear path to when that shutdown could end.

In the meantime, federal employees and members of the military are not getting paid.

Nebraska congressmen Don Bacon, Mike Flood and Adrian Smith, as well as U.S. Sen. Pete Ricketts and Sen. Deb Fischer, are all forgoing their paychecks until the shutdown ends.

All four of Iowa's U.S. representatives have asked to have their pay withheld for the duration of the shutdown as well. The Constitution allows for members of Congress to continue receiving pay during shutdowns.

Flood told KETV on Wednesday that he spoke with the director of the Office of Management and Budget. He said there will be major consequences ahead.
