ORRINGTON -- A local golf course is launching a fundraiser for a new flagpole.

Coinciding with the Maine Veterans Project golf scramble on Friday, October 3rd, the Rocky Knoll Country Club will launch a campaign to raise $25,000 for a 60-foot flag pole.

The country club previously flew its flag on a cell tower on its property, but last year the tower was converted into a 5G-supported structure, which altered its shape and prevented the flag from flying properly.

Clubhouse manager, Sally Wight, says the flag had become something of an icon and its absence has been felt over the past year, prompting this new project.
