SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Valencia Jones experienced domestic violence from 2014 to 2016.
She finally left her abuser in 2019.
Jones later discovered her calling was to help others in similar situations. To tackle the problem head on, she began counseling different abusers.
“And I realized, I’m serving the victims, but the perpetrator is out there creating more victims. It’s a vicious cycle,” Jones said.
She says it wasn’t easy in the beginning —with each client reminding her of her hard past.
“They’re really angry, and they take it out on me. And so, I had to learn to get a tough skin and deal with it, but I saw the impact,” Jones explained.
