SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - An appeal has been denied for the man who was found guilty of firing the shot that killed Shreveport teen, Landry Anglin, back in May of 2022.
The life sentence for Kenmichael Dano Ray, 26, who was convicted of second-degree murder in June of 2024, has been upheld by the Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeal. That announcement was made Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025.
Ray was found guilty in the shooting death of Anglin, who was 13 at the time of her death.
Since his sentence was upheld, Ray will serve a mandatory life sentence without the benefit of parole.
Justices Jeff Cox, James M. Stephens, and Jefferson R. Thompson rejected Ray’s arguments that the court made three errors in his case. Ray claimed the state failed to prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt t
