DENVER (KDVR) — A man riding a motorcycle on East Smoky Hill Road in Aurora on Wednesday died after losing control and crashing.

The Aurora Police Department reported that the crash occurred at about 3 p.m. on Wednesday on East Smoky Hill Road near East Jamison Circle. The area is just south of the intersection of East Smoky Hill Parkway and South Powhaton Road.

The police department said the man was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. No other people or vehicles were involved, the agency said.

The rider has been tentatively identified as an 18-year-old, but official identification will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office once the next of kin have been notified.
