Former mayor challenging incumbent in Thurmont mayoral race

Thurmont residents on Tuesday nominated incumbent Mayor John Kinnaird and Commissioner Martin Burns — a former mayor — for the mayoral seat ahead of the town's election later this month.

During the town's nominating convention, four residents, including incumbent Commissioner Wayne Hooper, were nominated to run for the two commissioner seats that are up for election.
