Former Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett has hit out at Andrew Hastie and Jacinta Price for undermining Opposition Leader Sussan Ley.

Mr Kennett, who served as premier from 1992 to 1999, claimed the outspoken Shadow Minister for Home Affairs Hastie and Liberal Senator Price were not being team players in the wake of the May 2025 election loss .

Mr Hastie has been publicly speaking out on opposition policy, pressuring Ms Ley to abandon net zero and make more severe cuts to immigration.

Ms Price was recently removed from her portfolio as shadow assistant defence industry minister for refusing to publicly support Ms Ley.

"You will never win a battle ... if you're not united and disciplined," Mr Kennett told Sky News Australia of the recent turmoil.
