The injured K-9 lieutenant who was ambushed in North Codorus Township, York County, with five of his colleagues last month issued a statement on social media while he recovers in the hospital.

On Wednesday morning, York County Sheriff’s Office Lt. David Godfrey thanked everyone for their support during his recovery.

“I will keep this short, thank you,” the post said. “From the deepest part of my soul. Your Prayers, Thoughts, Kind Words, and just being there. You all helped me more than you will ever know. Thank you.”

Godfrey’s statement was posted alongside a TikTok video talking about faith.
