STATEWIDE -- Law enforcement K-9s who served and then passed away, or were killed in the line of duty, are being memorialized in a special way thanks to a Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Sergeant.

These sketches are the work of Sagadohoc County Detective Sgt. Adam Temple, who is a renowned criminal sketch artist.

K9 Ruk served in the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office. Maine State Police K9 Preacher was killed in the line of duty in Portage Lake early this year.

Sgt. Temple creates the sketches to hone his craft further and also to honor the lost K-9s.

And they're not just from Maine. K9 Azi served in Texas, and K9 Bolo was with the Asheville, North Carolina PD.
