MOTT HAVEN, The Bronx (PIX11) — A Bronx apartment building partially collapsed on Wednesday morning after an explosion in the boiler room, according to the FDNY.
The blast caused a ventilation shaft to collapse at 207 Alexander Ave. around 8:10 a.m., officials said. No injuries were reported.
Cell phone video recorded by 18-year-old Osirus Neal shows the entire top of the chimney crumbling a few minutes after the explosion and shaft collapse.
Neal told PIX 11 News, "I was only recording because half of the building was off, and it caught me by surprise that the chimney fell. It's crazy, I've never seen something like that before."
