QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – A Queens man has been indicted for allegedly killing a family member's dog and setting the body on fire on a public street in July, District Attorney Melinda Katz announced Tuesday.

Isaiah Gurley, 29, from Queens, is facing multiple charges, including animal cruelty, arson, harming a service animal, and criminal mischief, according to court documents.

These charges stem from an incident that occurred on July 24, 2025, according to police.

While investigating a separate case in Queens, officers discovered the charred remains of a dog near 116th Avenue in the South Ozone Park neighborhood, according to court documents.

The NYPD Animal Cruelty Investigation Squad was notified, and an investigation was initiated.
