LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Dean Rogers thinks traffic cameras could be the solution to Louisville's speeding problem.

"I can't tell ya' how many people would run red lights and have traffic accidents and die at intersections," he said about living on Preston Highway. "Something has to be done about the speed."

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg supports a potential solution: automatic traffic enforcement via cameras. Those aren't currently legal, but that could change.

"I know that there are going to be some state laws that are pending," the mayor said. "I'm waiting to see the specific language of that. But I am positively inclined to support automatic enforcement if that can make our roads and communities safer."
