BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - At two locations in Boone County, Hero House offers sober living options to those in need.
“If I have twenty guys here and I can save one life, that’s what it’s all about,” Hero House Director Preston Gore said.
After seeing a need, Gore got to work on a new building.
“I get phone calls every day, we get emails every day from somebody that wants to come, that needs a bed that wants to go into recovery,” Gore said.
Gore said they’ve put up a new building with help from the County Commission and raising money, but they plan to apply for opioid settlement funds to finish up the job.
At Tuesday’s County Commission meeting, Gore presented the progress during the past year to commissioners. Hero House is now applying for Opioid Settlement Funds to finish the job
