CHAPIN, S.C. — The Chapin We Care Food Pantry i s asking nearby residents for donations as the center is currently low on supplies.
According to the pantry staff, the center serves around a thousand people a month around the community and this time of year. is when donations are needed the most.
"In the summer months our need is the greatest because our client's children are home from school, so more (food) goes out and less comes in so we are low on supply right now," said Bob Williamson, the chairman for the Chapin We Care Center.
The pantry relies on local grocery stores, businesses, and the USDA for food. Particularly they depend on those avenues for produce and meat. However, during the summer months, donations from the businesses and organizations are low which causes clients
