BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - For nearly two centuries, members of Elaine Krohn-Bories’ family have lived on farmland on Big John Road, just off Highway 67. Now, a request to rezone nearby property for a residential development has the family and their neighbors raising concerns.
The application, filed by property owner Rita A. Smith and applicant Dennis Stieffel, seeks a zoning map amendment for 38.61 acres along Big John Road — about a mile from the Krohn-Bories family. The request would reclassify the property from Agricultural to RS-7.5 Medium-Density Single-Family Residential.
