SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - After its funding was cut by DOGE, Shreveport Green survived through the summer with the help of the community.
Earlier in the year, Shreveport Green , a community garden near downtown, announced that they were losing funding due to cuts from DOGE.
The organization has been able to stay afloat through the summer after receiving a lot of community support and donations.
Lauren Jones, Shreveport Green’s executive director, says that the nonprofit is one of the nations longest-running programs and that it has been around since the mid-90s.
