KAHULUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - There is some hope for those pushing for a second bowling alley on Maui – a story reported by Hawaii News Now on Monday.
Lifelong Maui resident and principal broker Norman Franco said plans for a sophisticated bowling alley on the island have been in the works for the past 13 years.
“It’s more than a bowling alley, it’s a family entertainment center,” Franco said.
Franco said he was contacted by former Maui County Mayor Charmaine Tavares three years ago to make her plans become reality.
“After looking at various locations, I told Charmaine, it just wasn’t worth it spending all that money and having only a lease situation. We’d be better off if we had an ownership position,” said Franco.
So, they set their sights on the Kahului Shopping Center on West Kaahuma
