We’re witnessing a bit of MLB post-season history this Wild Card Series.
With the New York Yankees, San Diego Padres and Cleveland Guardians all forcing a winner-take-all Game 3 in their respective series, Thursday will be the first time since 1981 that three sudden-death games will occur on the same day.
Between 2022 and 2024, just two Wild Card Series required a Game 3.
The Los Angeles Dodgers were the lone team able to finish off the Cincinnati Reds in two games, beating their National League counterpart with an 8-4 win on Wednesday night. They will face the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLDS.
You can watch all games live on Sportsnet or Sportsnet+.
Here is the full slate for Thursday’s winner-take-all Game 3s.
